Walking through Target the other night Ethan and I came across the Perfect Meatloaf Pan
. And as anyone who knows Ethan already knows, he loves his infomercials, especially those with cooking gadgets.
So we bought one – seriously you try telling little Mr. Blue Eyes “no” when he wants to cook something – and tonight we tried it out with one of the recipes that were in the book that came with the pan.

It was the bacon cheeseburger meatloaf recipe where you make your normal meatloaf (except in ours we replace bread crumbs and we use crushed up Rice Chex because it is gluten free) make a reservoir for shredded cheddar cheese and cover with the rest of the meatloaf and top with slices of uncooked turkey bacon and bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
Remove it from the oven spread some tomato paste on the top and sprinkle some more shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for another 10 minutes.
When it is done take it out, lift at the handles and slide the loaf onto a cutting board. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes, slice and enjoy.
I look forward to exploring the many possibilities of making different varieties of meatloaf with one of my favorite chefs, Ethan.
Enjoy your time in the kitchen!
