I love making meatballs sandwiches. It’s quick, easy and delicious.
I use ground turkey to make my meatballs because it is leaner and I really like the taste of it so much better. I’d prefer venison but it is not readily available here in the city. To season the turkey I use a variety of spices such as Oregano, Basil, Garlic salt, Fennel Seeds, and Ground black pepper. Mix the spices and room temperature ground turkey in a large bowl with a few tsps of Worcestershire sauce (it has zero calories, low in sugar and big on flavor) let it rest in the bowl for at least a half hour.
After it has rested It is time ball it up. I prefer make bigger meatballs for sandwiches so I can cut them in half and they sit better on bread, but size is up to whoever is eating them. Roll them up and put them a elevated rack and bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until done. Serve on a roll, with pasta, rice, or all by its delicious little self. However you eat them, enjoy them.
Enjoy your time in the kitchen,
